Dear Friends of the Guilford Community Church,

We are pleased that our shared vision of the church as both a spiritual and local community center has come to life. We hope, of course, that those of us who use the church will share our feeling of gratitude for having this community resource and, accordingly, help to maintain the building and equipment we in the Guilford Community share.

The church is used by many organizations and we are, therefore, constantly challenged by both increases in routine and major maintenance costs, as well as by the ever- increasing costs of heat and utilities. Keeping in mind both our desire for the church to be an affordable resource for the entire community, and the need to meet the costs associated with the operation of the building, the church has determined the rental rates and policies presented below.  The following information includes guidelines; our wish is to honor the needs of all who wish to use the facilities for community functions, regardless of their ability to pay.  If you have special financial needs, please explain them to the church secretary; the GCC will make the final determination as to cost in each case.

Please note:

• The church has a no-alcohol policy,.

• Cigarette smoking must be outdoors only, and all evidence of cigarettes must be removed from the church grounds.

Key and Cleaning Deposit:

The renter/responsible party will be asked to pay a $25 key deposit and a $100 cleaning deposit in advance, which will be returned if the church is left in good shape and the key is returned. The condition of the church following the rental will be determined by the church leaders. 

Sanctuary:

  • Rehearsals for organizations: $50/rehearsal

  • Events exclusively using the upstairs sanctuary: $125

  • Houghton Room $25

Events in the downstairs space:

     •  For use of Zeller Hall (no need for furniture moving or kitchen use) $50

  • If taking down of partitions and re set-up is needed: $100

  • Use of kitchen facilities including the oven and/or stove-top: add $30

  • Use of kitchen as above and also including the use of the dishwasher and dishes: add $50

Scheduling and Cancellations:

If you are interested in holding an event at the church, please call the church secretary at (802) 257-0994 and she will arrange to mail you a rental contract.

In the event of a church emergency or any conditions that might put the building or its occupants at risk, the GCC reserves the right to cancel any rental agreement at anytime.
