Music for February 23, 2020

Anyone and everyone is welcome to join our Choir on any Sunday morning; just show up for our Sunday morning rehearsal.
Dear GCC Choir,
Thank you for arriving at 8:45 am for our 8:50 am rehearsal this Sunday.
Lise will be leading our Mardi Gras (Sunday before Lent) service and so, of course, we will be doing our "When the Saint's" (in Bb) parade.  Bring your brass, woodwinds and percussion!
Our two anthems are both a cappella SATB, both Guilford Choir classics:

new Hallelujah lyrics

When
Jesus reached the mountain height

His
disciples saw his clothes turn white

Twas
bathed in dazzling light enough to blind you

Moses
and Elijah said

"It's
time to leave your earthly bed,

and
when you do we'll all shout Hallelujah."

When
from the heights they came back down

The
masses crowded all around,

A
father cried "Please see my son I beg you.

A
demon makes him shriek and moan,

His
body shakes, his mouth it foams,

Oh
can you heal him, Lord, Hallelujah"

Jesus
said, "you're lacking faith.

Oh
how much longer must I wait?

Oh
come to me, young lad, and I will cure you."

The
boy stood and he thrashed about,

But
Jesus drew the devil out

And
cast him off, the crowd cried Hallelujah.

See you at 8:45 am this Sunday.
Best,
Peter
