Subject: Union Service CHOIR @ Dummerston July
Dear Dummerston Choir, Choir Directors, Pastors, Singers, etc
This coming Sunday, July 28, Dummerston Church will be hosting our Union Service!
We
welcome singers and congregants from Centre Congregational, West
Brattleboro, and Guilford Churches to our service, and particularly to
our choir!  All are welcome, and please share this email with anyone that you feel might be interested in joining us.
I
have added a special "extra" rehearsal this Friday night, at 7 pm to
look at our usual service music, and to get a head start on our anthem:
Border Song, by Elton John.
I am
finishing up a choral arrangement of the song and will send the music as
soon as it's ready.  In the meantime, listen to Sir Elton sing it.  The
arrangement follows his version exactly, (minus his very tricky vocal
ornamentations) and is in the same key.  Shouldn't be too difficult.
Here's the deal:
  1. Border Song Sheet Music is coming.  In the meantime, listen if you don't already know it.  BORDER SONG —–>. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Lm7b-32Mpbs
  2. Additional service music is attached along with listening files.
  3. Friday
night rehearsal (not mandatory, but a good idea to attend if you like
to feel confident on Sunday morning).  7:00 pm. at the Dummerston
    Church.
  4. Sunday morning rehearsal begins promptly at 8:45 am at the Dummerston Church.
  5. Sunday
morning service begins at 10 am.  No robes, The whole service focuses
on the refugee crisis at the US Border.  Printed copies of sheet music
in a binder will be provided.
  6. World's best coffee hour following our service.  Wonderful food and fellowship!
  7. I'd
love an RSVP if you plan to attend so I'll know how much music to
print.  You can just hit "REPLY SENDER" and say Fri:  Yes, no, maybe.
and Sun:  Yes, no, maybe.  That would be most helpful for me!
SERVICE REPERTOIRE:
  1. INTROIT – Be Still and Know
  2. PRAYER RESPONSE:  Hear Our Prayer, O Lord
  3. OFFERTORY ANTHEM:  Border Song, by Elton John (Sheet music is coming)
  4. BENEDICTION RESPONSE:  7-Fold Amen
I am truly excited to help lead this service with Shawn Bracebridge, and very much look forward to seeing you there!
