April 21 is Easter and, weather permitting, the congregation will gather at 6am outside the Guilford Community Church around the bonfire on the green next to the church for a retelling and re-singing of the Easter story. Should it be raining we will gather in the back of the sanctuary. The annual pancake, eggs and sausage breakfast will follow in the Rosa Zeller Hall beginning at 6:30am. Everyone is welcome.
At 10am the Easter Family Service will begin, with nursery care provided for small children, and worship intended to include people of all ages. The choir will welcome any and all at 8:30am to rehearse the anthems which include: “The Bells of Norwich”, “He Got Up” and “Oh Happy Day”, both African American spirituals; the Billings Easter Anthem, a shape note piece, and Handel’s Hallelujah Chorus. Paul Winter’s “Blue Green Earth” will help weave in strands of Earth Day and Rev Lise Sparrow will reflect on “Resurrections and the Resurrection” and the Easter Story as found in the Book of John.
