Brian Remer, long-time member of the church and former lay leader, will lead worship at 10 AM at Guilford Community Church, United Church of Christ. He will offer a sermon entitled “A Nation of Weavers.” Tony Barrand will read Scripture taken from the Old Testament book of Haggai and from The Gospel According to Luke.
Peter Amidon will lead the choir singing two anthems: “MLK Song” by Mavis Staples—Zara Bode singing the solo—and Pete Seeger’s “Oh, Had I a Golden Thread.” Anyone interested in singing in the choir should arrive at 8:55 for the rehearsal at 9:00 AM. Organist Patty Meyer will accompany the hymns, “Diverse in Culture, Nation, Race,” “We Are Your People,” and “Blest Be the Tie That Binds.”
The Reverend Lise Sparrow is on a prayer retreat will return to the pulpit on November 17.
