Sunday, October 11

GCC will celebrate National Coming Out Day on Sunday October 11, and the service will be exploring the ideas of welcome and hospitiality. Readings for this service will include the gospel of Matthew and a poem by Rumi entitled “The Guest House.”  The sermon by Pastor Lucozzi is called “Widening Our Welcome.” Music under the direction of Peter Amidon includes the anthems, “I’m Gonna Lift My Sister Up” by Faya Rose Touré, arranged by Peter Amidon and “Will the Circle Be Unbroken” and hymns: “Blest Be the Ties That Bind” and “Break Not the Circle” “as well as heart song “How Could Anyone” sung by the GCC choir and “I’m Lucky There’s a Sun” sung by Perrin Scott and Tom Yahner. The children’s story for our service is A Church for All by Gayle Pitman. Prayers and concerns for the world and our time are also a regular part of our time together. Everyone is welcome.
