Guilford Community Church will continue with services live-streamed from the sanctuary through Easter.   Rev. Lise Sparrow, Peter and Mary Alice Amidon, and Patty Meyer will be present at safe distances Sunday April 5 for the Palm Sunday Communion Service. The live link will be found at guilfordc.sg-host.com on Sunday morning and for all upcoming services, on the homepage under “next service”.  Those participating are encouraged to have a candle ready for lighting and bread and juice or wine ready for communion.   Tomorrow’s service will include music by the Amidons, as well as hymns which can be found in the bulletin.  The introit “Deep Calls to Deep” was composed by Mary Alice Amidon based on Psalm 42. Other anthems include the “Merchant’s Carol” by Tony Barrand, Fred Breunig and Andy Davis,” The Man on the Mountain” and “Noah” played live by the Amidons.  The children’s story will bring Noah close to the end of the storm which has kept him in the Ark for the past weeks and the sermon will walk the congregation through Jesus’ last encounters in Jerusalem.
Thursday night at 7pm the Tenebrae Service of “shadows” will replicate the Last Supper, again with bread and juice or wine provided by those watching, with the link provided as above on the website.
The Ecumenical Good Friday Service will also be live-streamed through the Guilford Community Church website from 12 noon to 3pm including the following participants preaching to the Last Words o Christ,as listed here: “Father, forgive them; for they know not what they do”. …Rev. Audrey Walker, “It is finished.” … Pastor Jeremy Kirk, “Father, into thy hands I commend my spirit”  Rev. Susie Webster-Toleno in that order and supplemented by music and prayer.  Liturgists will include:  Rev. Lise Sparrow, Rev. Ron Hamm, Rev. Mary Lindquist, Connie Baxter and Karen Davis, all representing different churches in the local area. More information will be available later in the week.
