Fred Breunig, long-time member of the church and also one of the lay leaders, will lead worship at 10 AM at Guilford Community Church, United Church of Christ. He will lead a hymn sing featuring carols that have not been sung this Christmas season, or which deserve to be sung again. Helen Merena will read Scripture taken from the Old Testament book of Isaiah and from The Letter to the Hebrews. .
Peter Amidon will lead the choir singing two carols from the Nowell Sing We Clear repertoire: “Rolling Downward” and an English translation of a Catalan carol “El Desembre Congelat” or “Cold December.” Anyone interested in singing in the choir should arrive at 8:55 for the rehearsal at 9:00 AM. Patty Meyer will accompany the hymn sing, Hark the Herald Angels Sing; On Christmas Night All Christians Sing; Lo, How a Rose E’er Blooming; The Angel Gabriel from Heaven Came; Lift Up Your Heads, O Mighty Gates; and Angels We Have Heard on High.
The Reverend Lise Sparrow will return to the pulpit on January 5.
