UCC UNION SERVICE
Centre Congregational Church, and the First Congreagtional Churches of Dummerston and West Brattleboro will join Guilford Community Church for the first of the 2020 United Church of Christ Unions services
May 31 at 10am in celebration of the Festival of Pentecost. The link to the online service will be streamed at 10am from the guilfordc.sg-host.com homepage. It will also run on BCTV channel 8 at 8am Sunday, May 31,
and the following Weds, June 3 at 6:30am and is available on the BCTV webpage. Singers from all four churches will join in two vitual choir pieces: “Welcome Holy Spirit” by Mark Condon and “Spirit of God” by J.S, Bach, created for the day by Peter Amidon. Other hymns represent different musical traditions and members of the different churches. Rev. Shawn Bracebridge will read an excerpt from Velvet Elvis by Rob Bell and Rev. Scott Couper will read the Pentecost Scripture found in Acts 2:1-20. Rev. Lise Sparrow will offer a children’s story and sermon reflecting on the meaning of the Pentecost and Rev. Audrey Walker will offer a prayer including essential workers and those suffering during this time of pandemic. The offertory will include a video made by the Brattleboro Area Interfaith Youth Group in support of the Cheyenne River Children’s Village they have been supporting the past 6 years.
