Andy Davis, long-time member of the church and also one of the choir directors, will lead worship at 10 AM at Guilford Community Church, United Church of Christ. He will offer a sermon entitled “ Rocky Roads and Narrow Bridges.” His Children’s Message is “Robin Hood Makes a Friend.” Lucy Spahr-Blazej will read Scripture taken from The Book of Genesis and from The Gospel According to Luke.
Andy will also lead the choir singing two anthems: “I Want to Thank You, Lord” by Moses Hogan, and “Rasslin’ Jacob.” Anyone interested in singing in the choir should arrive at 8:55 for the rehearsal at 9:00 AM. Rachel Johnson will accompany the hymns, “Lord Speak to me that I May Speak,” “Wherever I May Wander,” and “Stand By Me,” by Charles Tindley.
The Reverend Lise Sparrow is taking youth of the church on an interfaith visit to the Abyssinan Baptist Church in New York City and will return to the pulpit on October 27.
