All children, from toddlers through eighth grade, are welcome to Guilford Community Church, United Church of Christ, tomorrow for the beginning of the Fall season of Sunday School. Through the month of September children will learn about their brothers and sisters in some of the places where church has relationships and, on October 6, they will erect a peace pole they will have created to celebrate World Communion Sunday.. Middle Schoolers will engage in the same activities but will also participate in service activities to include the creation of Clean Up buckets for those sufferings after Hurricane Dorian.
The 10am worship service will include anthems, “Water is Life” by Sara Thomsen and “I Sing of Love, Love, Love” by Christopher Grundy, under the direction of Peter Amidon; Psalm 139, reflections by the teens and adults from the church who travelled to the Dakotas this past summer, and readings and other music celebrating Lakota tradition and culture.
At noon the entire 2019 group of travelers will welcome the public to a slide show and discussion of the challenges faced by the Lakota people along with the developments over the past few years. Everyone is welcome
